Convergence properties of generalized Benders decompositions

This paper addresses two major issues related to the convergence of generalized Benders decomposition which is an algorithm for the solution of mixed integer linear and nonlinear programming problems. First, it is proved that a mixed integer nonlinear programming formulation with zero nonlinear programming relaxation gap requires only one Benders cut in order to converge, namely the cut corresp...

Monoidal closedness of $L$-generalized convergence spaces

In this paper, it is shown that the category of stratified $L$-generalized convergence spaces is monoidal closed if the underlying truth-value table $L$ is a complete residuated lattice. In particular, if the underlying truth-value table $L$ is a complete Heyting Algebra, the Cartesian closedness of the category is recaptured by our result.

Generalized Splines In

We give a new time-dependent definition of spline curves in Rn, which extends a recent definition of vector-valued splines introduced by Rodrigues and Silva Leite for the time-independent case. Previous results are based on a variational approach, with lengthy arguments, which do not cover the non-autonomous situation. We show that the previous results are a consequence of the Pontryagin maximu...

Generalized Expo - Rational B - Splines

The concept of expo-rational B-spline (ERBS) was introduced in [6] where the ’superproperties’ of ERBS were studied for the first time. In 2006 the first author of the present paper proposed a framework for the generalization of ERBS, the so-called generalized ERBS (GERBS), and considered one important instance of GERBS, the so-called Euler Beta-function B-splines (BFBS) which offered a good tr...

Convergence Properties of Autocorrelation-Based Generalized Multiple-Model Adaptive Estimation

In this paper a generalized multiple-model adaptive estimator is presented that can be used to estimate the unknown noise statistics in filter designs. The assumed unknowns in the adaptive estimator are the process noise covariance elements. Parameter elements generated from a quasi-random sequence are used to drive multiple-model parallel filters for state estimation. The current approach focu...
